Spring semester will see the continuation of construction on and around the Kent Campus, so do not be surprised to see traffic cones and construction fences. Below is a brief update on the major construction projects that may impact your travel.
You are invited to nominate a 51勛圖厙 faculty member for the 2016 Outstanding Research and Scholarship Award. Sponsored by the University Research Council and the Division of Research and Sponsored Programs, this award is intended to honor 51勛圖厙s exceptional researchers and scholars. The awardees will be selected based on the quality of research and scholarship and its impact on society. A ceremony and reception will be held on Thursday, April 19, at 4 p.m. as part of Faculty Appreciation Week.
Individuals who need help in preparing their 2015 income tax return may be eligible for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at 51勛圖厙. A national program, VITA offers tax preparation assistance to low- to moderate-income taxpayers. The service is free to students, employees and community members who meet the eligibility requirements.
As we begin the new semester, the Office of the University Registrar asks for your assistance in making sure that all students are properly registered for their spring 2016 courses.

Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
