Employee Resource Groups
WHAT IS AN EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUP?
Consistent with 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s mission, goals and vision to better our society through meaningful voice, the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) foster a culture of respect, kindness and purpose.
The ERGs promote a culture of belonging amongst 51³Ô¹ÏÍø employees through continued learning. Members of all ERGs comprise of staff and faculty that work toward advancing the inclusion of all employees. Their vision, mission, goals, policies and activities are fully aligned with 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s.
EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUP LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
While ERGs are supported by the Division of People, Culture and Belonging, all ERGs are independent and managed for and by 51³Ô¹ÏÍø employees. The ERGs are governed by the ERG Leadership Council, which is comprised of a representative from each ERG.

Asian, Asian American & Pacific Islander Faculty and Staff Alliance (AAAPI FASA)

Our mission is to build and foster a community that promotes AAAPI cultures and values. We are committed to supporting its members’ needs and voices. In collaboration with other initiatives of diversity, equity, and inclusion, we host programs and events, creating sites for empathetic and effective allies.

Access Betters the Lives of Everyone (ABLE)
Access Betters the Lives of Everyone (ABLE) is dedicated to providing a space for community and collaboration among 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s faculty and staff who are part of the disability community.

Jewish Faculty, Staff and Friends Association (JFSFA)
Together with effective and empathetic allies, the mission of JFSFA is to develop and support a culture of safety and belonging for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Jewish students, faculty and staff.

Kent Engaged & Emerging Professionals (KEEP)

The Kent Engaged and Emerging Professionals (KEEP) group targets any university employee who identifies as an emerging or engaged leader. KEEP is focused on three goals: Provide opportunities for its members to grow professionally, organizing service options and give its members a chance to give back to the greater community, and to serve as a base to meet other engaged and emerging professionals in the area.

Latino Networking Caucus (LNC)

LNC is a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø work group comprised of students, faculty, and staff who have an affiliation or interest in the Latino culture that serves as a common resource and collaborative advocate for the campus administration. It serves as a clearinghouse for issues, events, and activities at KSU; and promotes and supports Latino interest, culture, and needs.

Pan African Faculty and Staff Association (PAFSA)

The Pan-African Faculty & Staff Association was founded in 1972 by the Institute for African American Affairs, (now the Department of Pan-African Studies) is celebrating 50 years of advocacy and service. PAFSA was formed to promote employment, participation in university affairs, and the intellectual contributions of the Pan-African community toward the growth and success of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.

Spectrum: Connecting LGBTQ+ and Ally Faculty and Staff

Spectrum hosts social events, leads LGBTQ+ advocacy initiatives, and maintains a listserv for information pertinent to LGBTQ+ and Ally faculty and staff. Any open-minded individual is welcome to join us, and we want you to know that you are accepted and embraced for who you are here at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.

The mission of the Women of Color Collective is to provide a platform which fosters the professional development, mental wellness, networking and personal growth of women-identifying faculty and staff of color at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and their allies.
