Ya-Fen Wang, Ph.D., assistant professor in 51�Թ���’s College of Nursing, is working on a one-year project to study if children’s prolonged exposure to stressful situations encourages poor eating behaviors, which can lead to childhood obesity.

East Summit Street, which has been identified as a high-traffic, high-accident area and a dangerous corridor for pedestrians, is in the midst of a major overhaul.

Project AWARE Kent, a new three-year program at 51�Թ���, is an initiative to raise awareness about mental health and substance abuse disorders. Project AWARE Kent will be offering Mental Health First Aid courses to 51�Թ��� students, faculty and staff in an effort to create a network of people at 51�Թ��� who will know how to respond to and are aware of mental health and substance abuse disorders. The course is an evidence-based training that teaches people to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders.
