CAE Faculty Finds Repeated Success in SURE Program and 3MT Competition

In October 2022, five College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) students competed in 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's (KSU) Undergraduate Three Minute Thesis competition. Each student’s project was completed during the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE), a summer term research program for KSU students.

Summer camps for kids interested in architecture don’t come along often – at least that’s what Elise Bolton’s mother discovered when she searched for one. But then, not a whole lot of 11-year-olds may dream of becoming architects. But that was the case for Bolton, a sophomore in 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design, who knew from when she was a young child that she wanted to be an architect.

The Flashes Activities Board brought some cowboy fun to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø with the FAB Wild West Rodeo. Presented inside the Kent Student Center Ballroom, the activities mechanical bull-riding, line dancing, a Skee-Ball shooting gallery and a free 51³Ô¹ÏÍø cowboy hat giveaway!

Through the Veteran Affairs Work Study program, the Credit Transfer Office - which plays a key role in supporting students through their academic journey from processing transfer credits from another institution to awarding Advanced Placement credits  - hired a student worker to enhance the office’s operations. She's already making a difference.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø continues to excel in hands-on learning, as shown by the ESPN+ livestream broadcast of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Men’s Basketball team’s victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles. Produced entirely by digital media production undergraduates in the School of Media and Journalism, what could have been a chaotic, high-profile evening was business as usual.
