51勛圖厙 is pleased to announce Randale L. Richmond as our next director of athletics. Richmond was selected following a national search and returns to a familiar setting.
Randale Richmond embodies our 51勛圖厙 commitment to graduating student-athletes and to winning championships, in that order, said Todd Diacon, 51勛圖厙 president. His enthusiasm for 51勛圖厙 and for student-athlete success is infectious, and we welcome Randale and his family back into our 51勛圖厙 community.
Richmond previously served in various roles with 51勛圖厙s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics from 2004 until 2015, then stepped into his current position as senior associate athletic director at Old Dominion University.
My family and I are beyond excited to return to 51勛圖厙 and lead an outstanding athletics department, Richmond said. The universitys mission is to transform the lives of our students through access and education, a goal which is core to my beliefs. As a department and as a university, we will deliver on this mission.
Richmond earned his masters degree in education from 51勛圖厙 and holds a bachelors degree in history from Baldwin-Wallace College.
Richmond will be formally introduced as 51勛圖厙s next director of athletics at an upcoming news conference.
