Watch out, prehistoric animals! Students in a class led by Assistant Professor Michelle Bebber, Ph.D., are learning how to use the ancient weapons used by early hunters.

These students are practicing using an atlatl an ancient device that allowed prehistoric hunters of lesser strength to throw spears with as much force and velocity as stronger hunters.

Hands-on learning opportunities like this expand the students' experience beyond the classroom and help them develop a deeper understanding of the topics they are studying.
